Gokyo Lake Trek

Trekking out of the ordinary in the Khumbu region is the Gokyo Lake Trek. This trek, although challenging, leads to some of the highest points of the Khumbu region. And on offer is a visit to the Gokyo lakes, some of the highest freshwater lakes in the world. The trip starts as we catch a plane from Kathmandu to the town of Lukla in the Khumbu Region. As we take on a tourist-packed trail to Phakding; feast on the views of Mount Kusum Khangkaru (6367m) and Thamserku (6608m). Consecutively, a trek to Namche and arrival at this Sherpa town will be an enticing affair across the Dudh Koshi river valley. While at Namche, first-hand view of the Mount Everest (8848m) from Hotel Everest view is mesmerizing. The trail then takes us darting towards the exotic Himalayas as we cross Himalayan settlements at Dhole and Machhermo. This eventually leads to the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest in Nepal which stretches across a vast landscape.

We head further to Gokyo village which rewards us with great views of glacial lakes, six of them in total, turquoise and serene. The next day we hike up the Gokyo Ri (5360m), a peak by the village, which is at the same altitude as the Everest Base Camp. Although distant, the summit of Gokyo Ri is a viewpoint for some of the highest peaks-mostly 8000’ers namely Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8414m), Makalu (8463m), and Cho Oyu (8188m). We wrap up our trek of the Himalayas and retrace our trail back to Lukla before heading back to Kathmandu. This is a challenging trek, however, you have to go an altitude of 5,360 meters. This is trek is suitable for Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November)

Everest Three Passes Trek

There lies more to the majesty of Nepal than the Himalayas; the challenging trails and the cultural aroma on the travel make up for a grand adventure. With the excursion of the cultural sites of the Kathmandu valley UNESCO World Heritage Sites, then we head to Lukla on a short flight. Upon arrival, we’ll begin the trek to Phakding. As we battle the green and icy terrain, we arrive at the huge Sherpa settlement of Namche Bazaar. From Namche, we will head to the Tengboche Monastery at the Tengboche village. Walking on the trail of the Imja River leads us to Dingboche, and further leads to Chhukung. As we walk on the glacier moraines of the Nuptse glacier, we head to the Kongma La Pass (5535m). We are rewarded with a beautiful display of mountain ranges as we conquer the pass. Then, we head to the Everest Base Camp via Gorakshep and observe the awesome sunrise and sunset from Kalapatthar.

Afterward, we descend towards Dzongla and pave the way towards the Gokyo lakes. We cross the Chorten filled Cho La Pass (5420m) and walk on the Ngozumpa glacier to reach the Gokyo lakes. A short hike to Gokyo Ri (5360m) will rejuvenate us and we cross the Dudh Pokhari to reach the Renjo La Pass (5360m). We head to Lumde and as we cross the Bhote Koshi River, we again arrive at Namche Bazaar. Walking through the lush forests leads us to Lukla and a scenic flight takes us to Kathmandu where the trip shall end.

Lo Manthang was the capital of the Mustang region and the last monarch of Mustang resided in his palace inside Lo Manthang. After exploring the walled city, you’ll move north towards Niphu and Garphu along with Ghar Gumba (Buddhist Monastery) before making your way back to Jomsom via Dhakmar, Ghiling, Samar, and Kagbeni. The trans-Himalayan flight from Jomsom will bring you back to Pokhara. The trip concedes at Kathmandu. You’ll also get to relish the beautiful sight of Annapurna I (8091m) and Mt. Tilicho Lake Trek

Tilicho Lake Trek is one of the best trekking destinations for those who want to experience the beautiful scenery of mountains and lakes at the same time. Tilicho Lake elevated at an altitude of 4919m which is known as the highest lake in the world, located in the Manang District of Nepal Annapurna region. The 18 days trek begins in Kathmandu with visits to several UNESCO cultural heritage sites. Afterward, a full day drives to Chamje the trek Start from here. From where you follow the trails of Marsayangdi River leading to the villages of Tal, Dharapani, Chame, Pisang, Manang, Khangsar and finally to Tilicho Lake. From Tilicho Lake there is an option to crossing the Moesokanta La pass to Jomsom, instead of Thorang La pass, but additional tented camp is required because of no lodges around those places. After Tilicho the trek descends to Yak Kharka, Thorang Phedi, high camp and finally Thorang-La pass. After Thorang-La enjoying the view of Dhaulagiri massif, you trek down to the windy town Muktinath, Kagbeni and Jomsom. The 17 days Tilicho Lake trek concludes in Jomsom, then you will fly above the deepest gorge in the word (Kaligandaki River) to Pokhara.

This trek is not only for the scenery of Tilicho Lake but also for walking in Annapurna Circuit Trek. The trail starts from subtropical climate-to snow land and end to the dry valley. The best time to do this trip is from March to May (Spring) and September to November (Autumn).

Mardi Himal Trek

Lying at the base of the iconic Mt. Machhapuchhre(Fishtail) (6997m), Mardi Himal trail gives a feeling of trekking in the Annapurna region with fewer tea-houses and trekkers en route. An extension of the southwest section of Machhapuchhre, it takes less than a week to trek through the lush Bamboo and Rhododendron forests to reach the vantage point of Mardi Himal Base Camp. Although the landscape on the trek changes ruggedly from hills to lower mountains in a short span of time which offers astounding beauty of the Annapurnas and their residents.

The 11-day trek begins upon your arrival in Kathmandu. After initial preparation and full-day sightseeing of the UNESCO historical Kathmandu City, you’ll embark on a road journey west to the touristic city of Pokhara. The trek destinations lie 20km north of Pokhara, hence, you’ll take a short commute to Kande village and commence trekking through the quaint villages in the Annapurna region. You’ll pass through Australian Base Camp, Deurali, Low Camp, and High Camp before reaching the Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500m). Although considered the base camp, you can choose to trek 2hr further to reach the Upper View Point. From there you will enjoy the closer view of the scenic Annapurna massif, Machhapuchhre (6997m), and Mardi Himal summit (5553m).

Afterward, it’s a continuous descent through the alpine shrubs, and lush Bamboo and Rhododendron forests until Lumre. Then, you’ll retrace your path and trek back through High Camp to Siding village. You’ll descent along the Kalimati and Ghalel villages en route to Lumre; from where you’ll catch your commute back to Pokhara. The trip concedes at Kathmandu upon your return from Pokhara. Mardi Himal Trek is accessible throughout the year, however, spring (Mar-Jun) and autumn (Sep-Nov) seasons are considered the best.

From here on, you’ll retrace your path and descend down to the exotic Magar and Gurung villages of Ghorepani. Similarly, the trek leads to Mohare Danda, Nangi, and Banskharka before conceding the trek at Galeshwar. The off-beat trail of Khopra Danda is a fairly new trail, hence, you won’t find many tourists en route which gives more time to relax and enjoy the place. Along the trail, you’ll be see the serene views of Annapurna massif, Gangapurna (7454m), Machhapuchhre (6997m), Nilgiri (7061m), and Hiunchuli (6441m). Then, you’ll catch your commute back to Pokhara from Galeshwar. The trip concludes at Kathmandu. The best seasons for trekking Khopra Danda are spring (Mar-Jun) and autumn (Sep-Nov).

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

Afterward, you’ll make a descent to the village of Tadapani. The trail continues to the traditional village of Ghandruk before dropping towards Nayapul. The ethnic village Ghandruk is mostly inhabited by the Gurung tribe of people and also serves as the headquarters of the Annapurna Conservation Area. A short hike down the stone-steps and the rugged trail will bring you back to Nayapul. You’ll catch a commute back to Pokhara, and drive back to Kathmandu.
