Restricted Area Treks

Restricted area Treks in Nepal, some of the remote areas of Nepal were restricted for foreign visitors to take until 1991 AD. After multiparty democracy established in Nepal, the rule has been changed together with new democratic constitution regulation and open for visitor to allow to trekking at restricted area. The following restricted areas are open only for group trekkers, however a trekking permit will not issue for individual trekkers. Minimum group sizes of 2 peoples are required for issuing the special permits. The main objective of government declaring these areas as a ‘restricted’ is to protect the environment and culture of the remote regions and provide the security and safety from outside influences. Trekking to restricted area in Nepal must be fully organized trek through registered Trekking Company of Nepal. The price of the trekking permits for restricted areas more expensive than other trekking areas of Nepal.

 A trekking permit is a must to travel to controlled areas mentioned below. Permit, however, is issued only to groups. Individual trekkers will not be issued trekking permit.
