Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour

Enjoy trekking to the foothills of the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest (8,848m), and fly back to Kathmandu on a Helicopter. The Everest Base Camp Trek and Helicopter Tour begins gradually advances through the ethnically rich Sherpa villages en route to Kalapatthar. On the trip, the views of Everest (8,848m) Lhotse (8,414m), Nuptse (7,861m), Pumo Ri (7,165m) will continually keep you company. This trek suits anyone with limited time on hand who still wishes to trek to Everest Base Camp and also enjoy the aerial tour of the entire Everest region.

The 11-day adventurous trip begins upon your arrival in Kathmandu. After initial preparation, you will take a flight northeast of Kathmandu to Lukla. Lukla serves as the gateway to the Everest region. You will begin trekking at Lukla and gradually advance along the Dudh Koshi Valley. Sagarmatha National Park covers almost the entire trail. You will enter the park at Monjo and trek along the alpine forests to reach Namche Bazaar. Namche is the largest Sherpa village in the entire region. You will trek through Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche and Gorakshep en route to Everest Base Camp.

The campsite lies close to Khumbu Glacier from where Everest climbers begin their ascent of the peak. To catch the pristine sight of Mount Everest (8848m), you will have to hike all the way to Kalapatthar. From Kalapatthar (5,545m), you will take a helicopter back to Kathmandu. Along the way, you can enjoy the aerial view of the entire Everest region, including Sagarmatha National Park, Dudh Koshi Valley, Khumbu Glacier, and some of the greatest Himalayan Peaks. Helicopter Tour to Everest Base Camp Trek remains mostly accessible during spring (Mar-Jun) and autumn (Sep-Nov) seasons.

  • Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel (No meals) | 1,300 m

    One of our company representatives will warmly receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport and escort you to your hotel. Once at the hotel, you will meet your trek guide and discuss the trip in detail. Depending on the time of your arrival, feel free to explore the city. Overnight in Kathmandu.

  • Day 02: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla & Trek to Phakding (B, L, D) | 2,610m

    After an early breakfast, you will drive to TIA and get on a short flight to Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla. Lukla lies 140 km northeast to Kathmandu and may take 40-45min to reach. From Lukla, you will commence your trekking to the Himalayas, and gradually advance to the village of Phakding from Lukla. The trek to Phakding is downhill and short. Overnight in Phakding.

  • Day 03: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (B, L, D) | 3,440m

    Leaving Phakding, you will continue along the trail and arrive at Monjo. In Monjo, you will obtain a permit to enter Sagarmatha National park and continue your trek through the park. You might be able to sport some wild animals on the way. You will trek along Dudh Koshi Valley to reach Namche Bazaar. From Namche, you can see Thamserku (6,608m) and Kangtega (6,685m) to the east. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 04: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization (B, L, D)

    Today you will spend the day acclimatizing at Namche Bazaar. Namche is the largest Sherpa village of Khumbu region. You will find numerous lodges, shops, diners, and restaurants bustling with locals and tourists. You can choose to make a short hike to the nearby Khumjung and Khunde villages. Everest View Hotel is also another prime destination to hike. The hotel also sports panoramic scenes of the Himalayas including the Mt. Everest (8848m). Overnight in Namche.

  • Day 05: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (B, L, D) | 3,820m

    Leaving Namche, you will continue along the Dudh Koshi Valley and make your way to Phunki Thanga village. The trail from Phunki Thanga rises through the rocky terrain to reach Tengboche. Tengboche is a beautiful Sherpa village overlooking Ama Dablam (6,856m) in the east. It is home to the highest Buddhist monastery in the entire region, Tengboche Monastery. The Monastery hosts the annual festival of Mani Rimdu each year during October-November, a highlight of the area. Overnight in Tengboche.

  • Day 06: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (B, L, D) | 4,410m

    The trail descends to the village of Debuche. The trail from Debuche is shaded by rhododendron forest. After crossing Imja Khola, you reach Pangboche village. The rocky terrain with sparse village takes you to Pangboche village where you can encounter thousands of Mani stones. On the way you pass the Pangboche Gompa, and from here the path gets steep. In a few hours, you reach the Dingboche village.

  • Day 07: Rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization (B, L, D)

    Dingboche sits on the eastern front of the Everest region. You can visit the Nangkartshang Gompa for the day and observe the lifestyle of the Sherpa inhabitants. You will spend the day today acclimatizing at Dingboche while enjoying the beautiful sights of Lobuche East (6,119m), Lobuche West (6,145m), Taboche Peak (6,367m) and Ama Dablam (6,856m). You also go through some acclimatization drills. Overnight in Dingboche.

  • Day 08: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (B, L, D) | 4,940m

    You will advance along the Khumbu Glacier to reach Lobuche village. On the way you pass Thukla. Thukla has amazing view of Nuptse (7861m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Khumbutse (6665m), Lobuche (6119m), Pumo Ri (7165m), and other peaks. You arrive at Lobuche crossing a ravine and trekking for a couple of hours. Lobuche or Lobuje is a Sherpa village located at the foot of Lobuche peak (6119m). Overnight at Lobuche.

  • Day 09: Trek to Everest Base Camp & Return Gorakshep (B, L, D) | 5,364m

    Today, you trek to Everest Base Camp. From Lobuche, you will continue along the easy trail uphill to reach Gorakshep (5,140m). Gorakshep serves as the intersection between Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar. A moderately easy trek will take you to the camp. The thinning air might offer a challenge. At the base camp, you can witness the colorful tents of the campers. The views of Khumbu Glacier, Icefall, and peaks like Nuptse (7861m) decorate the base camp. You will return to Gorakshep trekking steadily downhill. Overnight in Gorakshep.

  • Day 10: Trek to Kalapatthar & Helicopter flight to Kathmandu (B) | 5,550m

    You will start early today. Leaving Gorakshep, you will make a short hike to Kalapatthar. You can catch the beautiful sight of Everest massif including the Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8414m), and Cho Oyu (8188m) from here. After exploring Kalapatthar, you will take a helicopter back to Kathmandu. The ride in the helicopter will offer a fantastic aerial view of the entire Everest region. You can retrace the path you came up from the Helicopter. Overnight in Kathmandu.

  • Day 11: Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your final flight departure (B)

    You trip has come to an end. Today, you will leave Nepal, the land of the Himalayan. You will be taken to the airport for your flight back home.
